    Description of the needs

    Issues of fresh water supply and sewage treatment and recycling are becoming a main concern globally. Most of the efforts, (most not so successful), were put into cities, large urban conglomerates and dense communities. Small, mainly rural, communities remained out of the scope mainly because of problems of feasibility of providing solutions, such as: The huge diversity, complex topography, distance, lack of appropriate roads and electricity supply, lack of professional personnel to install and maintain solutions and long neglect.

    To this void Ayala has penetrated with its Sustainable, nature based NBS technology equipped on modular and portable units that can be shipped and installed easily in any location on the globe where people are living and where water is available. These AyalaEco units line and the Portable NBS operate independently after the one time installation. These Low capacity water and sewage treatment systems – designed to provide solutions to remote communities, neighborhoods, large/small households, factories, gas stations, train stations, etc. They treat any source of water and any type of sewage and they are designed and tailored to each site accordingly.

    Description of the solution

    The NBS™ is a cutting-edge game changer technology in the field of environmental sustainable solutions. It is a Hybrid system comprised of a set of tools to holistically purify contaminated water, soil and air, simultaneously. The system relies on Thermodynamics and is engineered with a combination of biotic and abiotic components, plants and aggregates selected over years of R&D for their physical and chemical properties, and supported by varying internal hydraulic layouts, wherein the functions of settling, clarification, biological removal, contaminants inactivation, and filtration occur simultaneously in a hybrid flow regime. Each system is created of modular treatment compartments sewn into the natural topography to minimize energy requirements. The NBS™ is a ‘Social’ technology, fabricated into the living spaces in Urban, Industrial and Agricultural zones; converting the local green spaces into an “Active Landscapes” treating on-site the local sewage, harvesting and treating on-site storm water run-off, recharging aquifers, preventing floods downstream by holding up the flows and reducing dramatically the Carbon Foot-print.

    The NBS™ is tailored for each case and adapted to be effective anywhere in the world. It has been optimized for many waste generating sectors through years of experience and research. Examples include radical –and sustainable- new approaches for treating dairy farm sewage, hydrocarbons, landfill leachate, personal care products, pharmaceuticals and hormones, aquaculture, RO brine streams, sewage streams – and more. Each case is backed up with laboratory testing ensuring that local regulations are met and improved on, doing so at a fraction of the operating costs and maintenance of conventional technologies, with improving effectiveness over time, being long lasting.     Ayala Eco 1 – 4

    The Ayala Eco systems differ in size and shape. They are ready-made containers, plastic/metal, which can be delivered to each site after learning the needs, along with internal equipment as necessary (aggregates, hydraulics, plants, and additives). Ayala Eco 1 can treat small capacities. All the modular systems can be built in parallel or one after the other. Capacity can change according to size of the system, sewage quality and quality demand at outlet.

    PNBS – The Portable Natural Biological System™

    Modular systems designed to treat bigger capacities depending on quality & water use after treatment. These systems can serve a whole village, neighborhood, cluster of houses and similar. There is also a bigger version – the long PNBS that can treat higher capacity of sewage/ contaminated water source. As mentioned, these systems are portable and can be transported easily and quickly.
