Description of the needs
When one talks about environmental risks, oil wells, mine craters, industrial chimneys, etc. come to mind. But the most natural and everyday human activities also leave their mark on the environment. And in the wake of urbanisation and the concentration of huge populations in one place – this ecological footprint is becoming a problem.
There is no urbanised area in developed countries that is not served by a sewerage and wastewater treatment plant. Sewage treatment plants prevent pollution of rivers and other water bodies. But this does not make the problem of waste go away – wastewater treatment plants produce tons of sludge every day in a form that is not only unusable but even dangerous – containing difficult to biodegrade organic compounds as well as potentially dangerous pathogenic organisms (viruses, bacteria, etc.).
Description of the solution
Compost “K2” is a 100% organic product. It is essentially a humus-like material produced from sewage sludge, selected strains of beneficial bacteria and organic waste. It is the subject of a patent registered with the patent office. Its main application is for the improvement and restoration of compromised soils. The created compost is a unique tool for super-speed – within 1 year, restoration of eroded soil, which favors to deal with environmental challenges and enables effective strengthening of landslides and collapses.
Тhe K2 compost was developed as a concept 10 years ago – since then the technology has evolved and changed, going through different stages and forms – applied repeatedly to strengthen landslides and eroded land. Our established and patented technology encompasses the complete process from product manufacture to effective use. The field of application is the restoration of degraded land due to human activity and natural phenomena and disasters.
Description of the effect
Restoration of eroded soil resulting from natural phenomena and disasters:
• Reclamation, protection and prevention of landslide areas at dams, road infrastructure, railway infrastructure, tunnels, faults, gorges, crossings with compromised and potentially dangerous areas;
• Countering the expansion of desertification zones;
• Soil restoration following wildfires and forest fires.
Restoration of soil compromised by human activities:
• Strengthening landslides product of human activity;
• Mines of any type and nature of resources extracted;
• Mineral and aggregate quarrying;
• Reclamation of existing construction and municipal waste landfills;
• Oil spills on soil during oil extraction.
